What Clauseway is, and what it isn't

These terms last updated: 2 October 2026 · Regulation library last updated: 1 October 2026

In short Clauseway is a free tool that gives general information to help you scope compliance work. It is not legal advice, it can be incomplete or wrong, and it reflects the law as of the date above. Check the official sources and get qualified advice before acting.

What Clauseway helps with

From a plain-English description of a digital initiative (for example an AI system, a cloud migration, a data platform or a cybersecurity programme), Clauseway:

It is meant as a starting point for a conversation with your legal, risk or compliance team, not as the final word.

What it does not do

Accuracy and how current it is

Your responsibility

Before making any decision or taking any action based on Clauseway's output, check the official sources and get advice from a qualified legal or compliance professional in each relevant jurisdiction.

No liability

Clauseway is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", for general information. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that it is accurate, complete or up to date, and we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, its output.

Other websites

Links to legislation, regulators and other sites are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and their content may change.

Your information

Do not enter confidential, legally privileged or personal information that you are not permitted to share. Your description is processed by our AI providers (Google Gemini, and OpenRouter/TypeSafe for the regulation review). How we handle data is described in the Privacy notice under Help on the main page.

Using anonymised data to improve Clauseway

Unless you opt out, we keep an anonymised copy of each completed analysis and use it to improve Clauseway: to correct and add regulation rules, to build test sets and measure accuracy, and to train better models. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
